So, as a few of you already know, I’ve been dipping my toes back into Astrology. I’ve seen a few really good descriptions here on f/b on current events. Of course if you like or respond, you get thrown into the logarithm and then 100’s of pages show up. So, I began reading.
I’ve never run into so much misinformation in my life, and I’m old. So, I’m back. I don’t like to correct anyone, afterall everyone needs to learn, but I’ve been out there trying to give good info and find myself frustrated. I’d rather just go back to my own pages and just do what I do. People can find their own way to the practice.
So, first off, people please don’t get caught up in a single aspect of a chart. That’s not how it works. People get caught up in their favorite aspect or configuration and never grow out of it. Stop. Please.
Additionally, nothing is written in stone. We all have free agency. But, most people follow the path of least resistance and then the chart can become written in stone. But, that’s not astrology, it’s your choices. A chart reveals that path of least resistance. it’s really that simple.
Also, there are no bad signs. There aren’t. A sign contains no energy at all. They are descriptions only, regarding how a planet placed there will manifest. I’ve told all my clients and students that the energy is in the planets, the sign is how that energy will manifest, and the house is where that energy will manifest.
No bad signs or houses. There are only planets, and if you get into this, please just stick with the solar system for now. Asteroids and such have little power and will only confuse the issue if you don’t really know what your doing. They become important in event charts, but not so much in the natal.
If anyone is looking at their own chart, which btw is where you should begin, first look at the shape. Is it scattered all along the wheel? Is it located in one half or in one quarter of the zodiac? This matters and reveals more than people think.
Then look at how many fire, earth, air, and water signs you have. Actually count them. Is it balanced, or do you have a dominance in one or two elements? Is there an element missing? It’s important. Do the same with qualities [Cardinal, fixed, and mutable].
Then look at the actual degrees of the planets [not houses]. How many 0-9 planets? How many 10-19 planets? How many 20-29? Is it balanced? Is anything actually missing? It’s all important.
And this is before you ever even look at the Sun sign, Moon, or ascendent. I call it breaking down the chart and then rebuilding it from the foundation out. The shape is the foundation. For real understanding, get the basics down, and then look at planets, signs, houses, aspects, etc. It works better this way. Trust me.
