OK, I’ve thought about it, but I’ll probably be thinking about it for the next two years while Saturn is in Aries.
So, I’m still thinking about the consequences for society as a whole. Neptune is a generational planet, so the effects can be slow to recognize. [I’ll get back to this later]
On personal levels, and of course it depends on what house Aries is ruling in a natal chart, but generally I think this is going to affect personal habits. Saturn is in fact a planet that controls daily behavior, and that behavior is usually with habits and routines.
Now, Cancer rules these usually, Capricorn [Saturn’s ruler] also has a lot to do with responsibility and control. Together, Cancer/Capricorn stabilize our daily routines and habits. We wake up, get our coffee, or eat breakfast. We go to work or take the kids to school. These are all ruled by the Capricorn/Saturn and Cancer/Moon axis.
Saturn is in fact controlling our daily behavior through our perception of our personal responsibilities. [Or the lack of responsibility btw] Saturn rules it all. Routines and habits make responsibilities easier to undertake. Does anyone really hate making the bed each day? [Well, some do, but this post isn’t about that] Usually we do it on autopilot. We don’t think about it because it has become routine, but somewhere in our lives we decided to do it and did it so often that it became routine. They are usually created by the Moon but are reinforced by Saturn. Saturn governs.
Many have reported to me some anxiety if they couldn’t make the bed each morning. The degree of anxiety differed, but somewhere in the back of their mind there was this “Oh I forgot to make the bed.” Why? Because routines are familiar and bring stability and without them, we can all become anxious. That is the entire function of Saturn. To bring stability and control. It also exacts some retribution if we fail to take responsibility, but again that’s a different post. [actually, a book LOL]
Now Neptune dissolves boundaries. It’s a lot of other things too, but in this case and in conjunction to Saturn I think this is the main result. Neptune should dissolve boundaries that we’ve all developed to ensure stability in our lives. Whether we know it or not, each habit is a boundary we’ve set for our lives. Some people adhere to these routines more than others, but I’m sure we’ve all seen someone get angry when one of their habits aren’t upheld by others.
Ever told your spouse how important it is to unload the dishwasher after a cycle? Truth is, the dishes are just fine in the dishwasher clean. Sure, they can get mixed up with dirty dishes, etc., but in general, there is nothing wrong with doing it. Except for some, it is so wrong that anger and frustration can result. We’ve all seen it. That is Saturn revolting against someone challenging its control. Neptune is going to challenge Saturn’s control In fact, in many ways, it’s going to try and destroy its control.
Remember Saturn = Control & reality. Neptune = escape from reality & dissolution of boundaries. You can see the conflict here, right?
Mess with Saturn and in Aries you get a reaction almost immediately. In Aries it will be lightning fast. Saturn is in its Fall position in Aries, so it is already frustrated with the sign placement.
Neptune will dissolve this imo. People might see changes in their habits and routines. They might not even notice routines have changed for days or weeks. When noticed, it won’t cause anxiety [or at least a diminished level of anxiety] it will be more like a surprise. The boundary has dissolved.
People might also notice changes in the routines of others. This is going to have to be accepted. Change will happen to everyone to varying degrees. It will depend on the placement of Saturn and Neptune in the natal, and the house Aries rules, but this is going to create changes in everyday behavior and POV’s on reality.
I think this is going to be the most obvious result of the conjunction in Aries. Aries is action, and the behavior changes make sense for the sign of Aries.
Neptune is also spirituality [not religion per se] and in Aries there could be new spiritual cults arise. Cults are generally demonstrated by exacting strict control over behavior, and Saturn loves cults. Because of the conjunction to Neptune and the zero critical degree, I think there could be new spiritual groups arising. It could also dissolve the boundaries of existing cults and or religions. The more controlling the religion or group is, the greater the conflict will be between Neptune’s desire to dissolve boundaries, and Saturn will to exert control.
This is just my first thought on this. There’s more, but this kind of event can, and probably will have books written about it. It’s major.
Individually, it all depends on the house Aries rules in the natal chart. It’s very important to know this piece of data. There are lots of free sites out there that will do a natal chart, although you will need an exact time of birth to determine the correct house. It’s worth it to find this out imo.
The other thing to remember is in Astrology the only energy is from the planets and luminaries alone. There is no energy in Sign or House. When I teach, I drum it into a students head that Planet are the energy, the sign is how that energy is expressed, and the house is the area of life where the energy will be expressed. Remember this. It’s always about the planet, then the sign, then the house.
Mathematical points like the Fortuna, Moon’s nodes, etc. contain NO energy. The exception to this is the ascendant because that point determines the location of signs and houses. But don’t get too worked up about mathematical points [Arabian Parts].
One more thing, any babies born on this conjunction will have an interesting chart. To explain how that might affect a child is basically not really possible because the conjunction will be part of a natal chart and I’d have to look at the entire chart, house placement etc. I hate to generalize anyway. Astrology is far too specific if done correctly.
Additionally, I don’t really do the charts of newborns except in the most general manner. A child is influenced more by the charts of the parents until they reach the age of consent. So, I usually just talk to parents using their charts to guide them as parents.
Now, internationally, I think this combo could play out in aggressive ways. We’re already in the mist of religious wars, and I think this will get worse. Aries is not a sign to play around with here. It reacts with no thought and instantly. Aries is the sign where the instinct for survival is strongest. The old religions [Saturn] will fight to keep their power, and Neptune will do what Neptune does naturally… dissolve control and powerful boundaries. Aries is pure instinct to survive.
I do think the technological advances of AI will be problematic, but it’s going to happen. Our reliance on new technology will not recede. I do think that Neptune here is a problem because there are escapist tendencies with Neptune. It seeks to always escape into a world of its own. AI will be Neptune’s heaven. Depending on the house involved in a chart [Yes, I say that a lot because it’s so important to understand], AI could be like a drug [also ruled by Neptune]. It might be difficult to escape no matter how hard Saturn tries to return someone to reality. Think video games on steroids for some people.
In any conjunction the two [or more] planets try to combine their energies. Some planets combine easily, some are at least not divisive, but some planets are so diametrically opposed in energy that the conjunction produces a constant battle for which energy will dominate. Think of it like a civil war that will play out in international events, personal lives, and probably in the charts of newborn’s born with this in their natal charts.
I’ve sort of gone off on several tangents, but I don’t have time to edit. Sorry guys. If you have questions just ask, but please don’t give me personal placements and ask the ‘What does this mean?” question. This is my profession, and while I don’t ever mind a discussion about any Astrological pattern or event, I’ve sorta outgrown answering personal questions for free. I’ve been doing this since I was a teenager, and I’m a baby boomer. You do the math. I’ve bene doing it a long time.
But like I said, I enjoy a good conversation, and this is offered in that light.
